Tech Training & Coaching

Having been a teacher for 6 years, I’m an excellent trainer and coach.

Having been in tech for 9 years, I can easily support you in learning:

  • Data modeling – took 2 courses & used professionally
  • Software Development Project Management – 7 years’ experience in corporate and startup environments
  • Agile/Scrum/XP/Agile at Scale – 4 years’ experience; trained at Pivotal Labs in XP, which is a variation on Scrum; trained and coached in Scrum specifically.
  • Jira or Redmine as project management tools – 7 years’ experience
  • Basic Java – 3 years’ experience (full disclosure, I never got very advanced, but I can help you get started!)
  • Photoshop  – have been using Photoshop since 1996—started with Photoshop 3.0! Trained extensively and used Photoshop professionally for at least six years. Trained in image creation (as well as modification). Photoshop gallery coming soon!

Art & Design

I have been painting and drawing since I was little. I earned a certificate in Graphic Design & Advertising from Parsons School of Design, Extension (Extension means I learned from Parsons teachers but didn’t have to apply / gain admission and was not eligible for a degree—only a certificate). My coursework included graphic design software, color theory, advertising design, etc.

I worked as a graphic designer for 3 years and a web designer (UI/UX) for 3ish years (overlapping because the web came along while I was a graphic designer. 1998 baby). I also did UI/UX at my corporate PM job for 2 years.

I can help you with:

  • Website design
  • Logo design
  • Illustration (any medium, digital or otherwise)
  • Hand Lettering
  • Data visualization (clear & useful graph and chart design and creation)

I can also train / coach you on any of those things.
